How can I gauge her interest subtle?

We are going out soon for a full day to a zoo, and I am planning to ask her on an official date afterwards, but I want to gauge her interest a bit beforehand, subtly. Do you have suggestions on how to do that? Bumping shoulders, light touch on the hand, or other suggestions?

Also, I'm dreading the date question, because it will change the friendship that has and still is developing.

No, neither of us is really good at texting, but in real life we communicate really well.

Think so, and laughs at my jokes.

Usually when we see each other we start talking and the focus is on that, so not really looking away.

does she suggest outings for the both of you?
I do mostly.

We have gone to stuff together, like ice rink, the park for talking and board games, and soon to a zoo. Not official dates, but I do feel like there is at least some interest
