ANY ALBANIANS HERE?

My family won’t accept my Albanian boyfriend, I am from the uk and we met through work they will not allow me to travel to Tirana to see him. They say it’s a communist, dangerous place full of drug and sex trafficking rings and Muslims everywhere. My boyfriend isn’t Muslim and doesn’t believe in any of the bad stuff and hates his nationality. He’s the kindest person Iv met and has made huge commitments to me. I am torn and don’t know what to do. Covid has kept us apart for 4 months and we just want to see each other. But my family are furious at the thought of me going there. He cannot come to the uk currently. They think he’s just a typical Albanian groomer and I don’t know what to do to convince them I need to do things my own way.
