Not celebrating Valentine’s Day is a DEAL-FUCKING-BREAKER?

Boyfriend is not romantic and usually doesn’t do anything for me, and so I expect Valentine’s Day to be the one day where he has an excuse to show me he loves me. BUT he problem is that he “doesn’t celebrate it”, which is a cop out. Am I being taken for a ride or is that normal to claim you love someone, but not want to “celebrate” the “day of love”? And is it a deal breaker for you?

I feel that Valentine's day is a terrible holiday not about real love, but a ruse to make women and men go to elaborate lengths to demonstrate their love in a very materialistic manner. If you want to spend the day cuddling on the couch watching romantic comedies; I will love to celebrate it that way. However, if you expect flowers, chocolates, jewelry, and/or an expensive date I am not down with that. Granted it is probably worth noting that I got a 0% for gift giving on the quiz to determine my love language.
