Shoud I end it with my online boyfriend and stick to a guy in real life?

I have been talking with this guy I met on instagram for almost a year, and we have been texting nonstop everyday and videocalling. He alwaaaays text me the first thing in the morning and he seems so genuine, kind and respectful and I think I'm in love with him.
He lives in Lebanon and I live in Germany (but we're both from the same culture, but different religions) and he is planning on visiting me this summer and he talks about the future with me.

However, I met a guy here in Germany (same religious background) who is so sweet and kind and basically has everything a girl needs, but I don't really feel anything for him... He's not a phone-guy so he barely texts and he sleeps really early and sometimes seems a bit boring... I don't know what to do.

Should I give him a chance? because obviously, it is a lot easier when he lives in Germany and just end it with the online guy, since it is impossible for us to be together anyways i just like him so much and we're so alike.

Look, I don't want to discourage you, but I believe I would do you a disservice if I didn't give you a dose of reality that would actually benefit you.

As a person who has been in a LDR before, I believe it's best for you to break it off before things get even more serious between you and the Lebanese guy. And I'm not saying this to give that other guy in Germany a shot. But rather because first of all, you've never met in person. Second, LDRs almost always fail and you have NO true long-term plan to actually be with each other. So you're right now in a the stage of getting to know each other, despite a year passing by.

Let me also tell you that you're creating a virtual image of the relationship in your mind. And he is doing the same. So there is a very big chance that you both aren't seeing the relationship on the same level (s). Eventually, one of you is going to grow tired of the distance.

One of the best choices I've made in my life is to leave a LDR and decide never to be in one again. And I don't regret it. Local relationships are way better. That connection you've created with the Lebanese guy can be created with someone who lives in your country. So keep your options open. I believe both of you deserve a chance of actually experiencing a true relationship. Not a simulation of it by being a virtual 'pen pall'.

I wanted to add that what I've written is mostly from a self-preservation point of view. Because what's the point of being in a LDR that has no future plans set? And by future I don't mean 10 years from now. The point of a LDR is wanting to close the distance asap. Doesn't sound like you got that far within your relationship. So all you do is pass time and invest feelings into something that seems bound to go nowhere. An endless LDR... Do you want that? I definitely don't. Wasted time, wasted feelings, wasted energy and possibly wasted money. A mistake myself and many others have made by being in a LDR. It's time to think with your head, dear.

Now during ldr, if a guy is trying to pursue me. Without the intent of videocalling, it is a red flag and not given the chance.
