Why do girls eat sour things?

I know that Some girls eat sour things but I don't know why so Please tell, whats the story

I do consume sour dough bread because I like the taste of it and because it is healthier than plain white bread.

Other than that, I am not a fan of sour food in general. I will occasionally eat the one or the other food but I never buy any sour treats or sweets just because those junk food are usually sugar bombs that should best be avoided if you want to live healthier.

I only know that ginger and sour things help most women out with morning sickness. Besides that I haven't noticed any preference towards sour things, but more so sweets.

I would guess they do like the taste, but this seems a little bit too far fetched.
