The Personal and Societal Benefits of Girls Taking the Initiative With Guys in Relationships
I'll tell you about one of them cause it's the most amusing (though he was a bit of a hot mess and the whole relationship was short-lived, but whatever.)
He worked at a meat market. (lol.) I thought he was good looking. I liked his face and dark features. I used to pop by there quite often on my way home to get some meat for dinner. I like these types of situation, I feel more comfortable with this, when I have a purpose (or they do), and we can interact 'on the level' for a while, checking each other out.
He was shy though. (His triple shirt thing, to bulk himself up, should have been a dead giveaway, for one.) So I bit the bullet. I decided one day, this is it.
"Hi. How are you?" "Hi, what can I get you?" "I'll have two breasts please." [Amanda motions to the chicken.] 😉 And... "Maybe you'd like to join me for dinner at my place?" [as she slides her phone number written on a piece of paper.] Him: "Sure, I'd love to."415 Reply- +1 y
Sadly I don't see it ever becoming mainstream or normalized

My guess is you agree with what I'm saying
- +1 y
@moviedude714 Correct!
"When pigs fly" occurred to me. But when I looked up pictures depicting that, I thought this one was much better - men engineering ways for pigs to fly. It adds another level of humour (and slight, though
probably unrealistic, hopefulness) vs. the standard hopeless view point, I thought. - +1 y
Yeah it has always felt like an injustice due to how one-sided this dating dynamic is, it's like why can't women go after men too right?
- +1 y
@moviedude714 Very much so.
- +1 y
A lot of people use the whole act of sex as being the reason why men have to do the pursuing or approaching
- +1 y
@moviedude714 You're preachin' to the choir. I hear ya.
Guys, do you like, or dislike, the idea of a girl asking you out? ↗ - +1 y
Ya, the women who are stubborn and adamant and feel it's the guy's role, they always say things like "because men are hunters"
- +1 y
@moviedude714 I know. I've read them all. Blah blah blah.
- +1 y
Another frequent comment I hear, you've probably heard it as well but women always say "men court women", it's been like that traditionally
- +1 y
@moviedude714 There's an endless supply of them on here. Yet another I just read: " I would never want to come across as desperate or make a guy suspicious. I'd rather give him the green light to approach me and let him feel like he won a prize."

ya before you said you were okay or thought it was good for girls to make the first move or ask guys out, but now you seem to be against that and insist that it be the guys role

+1 yA girl gave me her number, I did phone her but I wasn't in a good place so wouldn't have been fair on her. It was at work I worked on the railway and I used to like hanging around in the platform staff office they were good company the lady senior member and we used to pull each others leg.. ouch after saying something amusing she would say go on bugger off so I sat on her swivel chair and rolled it down the platform with a female guard pushing the chair and I was giving directions like right turn clide later when I drove back into the platform I was handed her number.
When I was 18 I had two girls said they were 16 later turned out they were 13 could hear me talking to a member of staff at the next station they asked who's that they got on train and came and had a nose, one asked me out it lasted a day, then her friend asked me out we went out for a little while then this big man turned up it was her dad, I found out then she was 13 and the dad wasn't nice.. I wasn't thinking of sex it never even entered my head until she said I'm not ready for sex, I just thought what's she talking about.
My sister and her friend was having a girly night in I cheekily asked can I come the friend said yes, the next morning she was snogging me.
Slightly off track: Because of what I witnessed in my childhood from age 9 between my parents it did a lot of emotional damage whenever I think of dating a woman It always goes through my head it will fail, a huge mental block.00 Reply5.9K opinions shared on Dating topic. I have been physically touched and seduced by women I didn't know at all on three occasions that I can recall:
1. In college, a woman who was a subject in an experiment and a student was in a lab room with me and spontaneously began kissing me and fondling me. She was extremely attractive and funny, and we wound up having a relationship that I wish I had done better with. She was a keeper. I deeply regret messing this one up.
2. I was leaving UCLA to go home and stopped at a traffic light next to a woman who rolled down her window and said "follow me". I did, and we went to an apartment building a few blocks up and parked, and she came to my car and said "come with me" and took my hand and we walked to her apartment, went in, and made love all night, In the morning I left and regrettably did not get her number.
3. I was waiting for a plane to northern California when a very attractive woman walked into the lounge and sat next to me. We talked for a while, and to my surprise, she gently touched my face, leaned over, and began kissing me, and we continued that on the plane ll the way to our destination. We made plans to see each other the following weekend, and I went, but it did not go well and we didn't see each other again sadly.21 Reply
+1 yYes, I've asked out a guy I found cute that I never spoke to on a beach once, he responded with 'i have to go to my mum or something' so I got rejected and moved on even if I had my cutest bikini on. Oh well..
Guys asking out girls is overrated, it's not desperate if a girl does it, I have lots of guys ask me out who I reject and guys I ask that have rejected me too. It's just life30 Reply
+1 yYes a few times, one quite recently lol
its just something that happens.
I remember my mate being asked out at a Club in Swindon by TWO girls.
he gloated that much that we lifted his Wallet and. Mobile, then had to walk back to camp from back end of beyond, twat.
it is just a thing and it’s not for stunning blokes, just john average with his mates and a girl likes him so will mention it to him.20 ReplyI once asked a guy why he hasn't asked me for my number yet. Pretty sure he was surprised because his response was 'Huh? What? I don't know. Should I?' 🤣 I think I made him nervous because he fumbled with getting his phone out of his pocket and ended up dropping it.

+1 yI've been asked out a few times. I could probably count the number of times on my fingers tho. Which isn't a whole lot for being 28. I've sorta asked someone out one time. I worked with him and I invited him to my new apartment to hang out. Then we just kinda started dating after that point.
06 Reply- +1 y
On top of being shy I always dealt with low self esteem so that made me too nervous to ask anyone out. I was always worried about rejection. I really felt like the guy I asked to come hang out liked me so that's why I kinda tried it the one time lol

Sometimes I wish I had that type of mindset lol

833 opinions shared on Dating topic. I've been hit on a lot in the last 10 years. All of them had to be in their 20's. Where were all these women when I was single?
31 ReplyWhen I was younger and more adventurous, it was something I did, but it was more for a physical encounter. If you go up to a guy and ask if he wants to f, the success rate is close to 100%.
Romance is different. I need to be pursued and chased. Asking the guy out in that case doesn't seem right.00 ReplyAsked out by a female? No
My wife did say she wanted to “jump my bones” he first night we met while flirting. History shows her bold strategy was successful since it’s been 15 years since we met and we’ve been married for 11 years and have 3 children together.01 Reply- +1 y
Actually now that I think about it once in middle school the day before I moved a girl in 9th grade said she wanted to date me.
Didn’t think of it at first since we never actually dated. It was cute thought she got me flowers on Valentine’s Day from “ a secret admirer”.
But that was an unfair example, the town a temporary moved too had like a 3 to 1 female to male ratio so there was very few males their that didn’t have at least one woman romantically interested in them.
Many I almost wished we could of stayed there, it was a teenage boys wet dream. LOL

+1 yIf I ever did, she was the one I was already destined to marry.
There WAS a girl in high school that actually chased me and would run up to me and hug me refusing to let go. She was very short, fat, long scraggly red hair and had a voice that'd peel paint, not very pretty and her name was Janis.00 Reply
+1 yNope. I've always been too shy to ask, but I am really good at flirting.

+1 yThat's called 'pre-selection'. For many women, that you belong to someone else is verification, or proof, that you must be worthy, worthwhile. And her feeble logic is that she could be that much better for you. Ask any married guy.
Women are extremely competitive, especially when it comes to men and dating.00 Reply
+1 yI have not asked out anyone but I did tell a guy that I liked him and that I thought he was cute. I wrote a very long heartfelt message lol. His response was not what I expected but eh I didn’t really feel bad

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yYeah I was fucking my ex one night hard and in walks her 16 year old sister with her friend, I pulled out and turned to face them out of shock with a boner and ejaculated. I got asked out by both those girls a month after, screwed them both while still doing my ex.
00 ReplyI have never asked a guy out, and I don't foresee it.
Men tend to sit the tone for relationships and if I did that it would set the tone of me always being the aggressor. That could work for some women but it would not work for me.02 Reply- +1 y

And I ask a guy out I genuinely really really like 😻00 Replynope, I flirt but never asked a guy out. If he is interested he will ask.
03 Reply- +1 y
If I know he likes me and I like him - then he knows I like him and he will ask me out. If I really like him then maybe I step up my flirting, maybe add some appropriate touching. But in the end I prefer a man to be strong, confident and assertive so if he does not ask then it was not meant to be.

+1 ysadly no, this still normally doesn't happen and will more than likely never become more common, its easy to sometimes resent women due to always expecting guys to ask them out first or make the first move on them
