Can huge intelligence differences work in a relationship?

I recently met a guy at a book store. We went on a date too. I got startled by him, he's really nice. Doing a postdoc (more than Ph. D. in Physics) at a top school. Funny, kinda sarcastically funny though, speakers 5-6 languages, plays guitar and violin. Also, volunteer in an animal and homeless center. I know, it sounds too good to be true. I have checked his social media, at least he's not lying. The date went really well, I am not dumb but isn't that much bright either. I wonder if he get bored with me soon. He's kinda shy and I am a bit outgoing.

I have a high IQ. I get along well enough if a woman has a slightly above average IQ.

It also just depends on what he's looking for. He's probably always busy in his own world. So, foremost is probably going to be that you can put up with the fact that he won't have a lot of time for you. Depending on his research. He could be gone for days, even months doing research. But will always return.

Mostly, he'll probably be happy if you listen and ask questions. When he starts talking about some fascinating thing he's working on. Which you don't understand. That doesn't matter as it's just to share something and impress you a little.

Intelligent guys can also be imminently practical. They know they're odd balls. They're just happy to be with a woman who likes what they are and support what they do. Mostly someone who fills the hollow gaps their intellectual pursuits can never fulfill.

He doesn't sound like the egotistical, elitist type of high IQ person. So, even if you aren't as smart. I doubt he'll be bothered by it.

very unlikely. cause there's an ammount of difference, where you litterally can't relate with one another. and if you can't relate with your partner, i would say a worth while relationship is impossible.

Yes, but if he has half a brain, and by your description, he does and more, he will challenge himself on his own. Relationship or dating isn't mental challenge time. It is emotional excitement time.

I am in a situation now where I feel I’m not stimulated enough intellectually by the girl I’m seeing... I feel guilty staying with her cause I know it probably won’t work out
