I dont know these fellow students well. We study in the same learning lounge so we know each other by face and say Hi a few times. I don't really talk to him or his friends.

I like a guy who happens to talk to him but I overheard that he was telling the guy information about me. He was telling him that his other friend who also studies with us saw me sleep on the table, what I wear, what I eat etc. They ve also branded me as a shy girl in front of him because I don't talk to them.

Lastly, he told him I'm not interested in the guy as I'm already with another person when I have barely even spoken to the other people about my love life. I don't even talk about myself to them and I overheard him telling the guy that "he doesn't talk to us".

But then why are you giving out the guy so much info? The guy earlier looked like he wanted to talk to me before but now he looks reluctant. Probably because he told her some exaggerated lies.

I dont know why he and his friends are so concerned with me. I don't talk to them much, I'm not friends with them. I do my work silently and I happen to fancy a guy who knows them. I think the guy probably told him that he liked me too and now this classmate is spreading this as gossip between him, friends, me and him.

Why is he doing this? Should I speak to the guy and alert him too?

I honestly don't know why they are so concerned with you in the first place. By the sounds of it, you keep to yourself.

Why they talk about your habits (what you eat, wear, etc) is beyond me. If it bothers you, I would say something to them. If it doesn't bother you, ignore it.

Honestly? The only thing you can do is work up the nerve to strike up a casual conversation and work that into it. Really not any other good options.

I haven't a clue why anyone would be spreading a rumour that you are dating when you aren't. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Just a question, you have said a couple of times "messaging". I take that to mean text or something like that. How do you know what texts they are sending unless you have access to their phone?

Correct me if I'm wrong, I just don't understand how you are seeing these "exclusive" messages.

I was standing outside and the girl was going home, talking on the phone to someone and she was saying that the guy friend sent her messages asking to meet up and when she meet up, he told her ybat he found something about me and that I seeing a guy whom I told I'm shutting down for 2 weeks and he was fine with it. So his friend told him that I'm getting alive again, going on a date etc.

Well, I think we are back to my original suggestion, which is talk to him if you are interested in him. That is the only way, in my mind, this gets resolved.

As I said above, try and strike a casual conversation. Don't go right for the "I'm not dating anyone". Work it in at an appropriate time. Says something like...

"Hey, just so you know, I'm not seeing anyone. I heard there were rumours that I was." Guess what? This is now the perfect time, if you like him, to then say "Would you care to have some coffee (lunch, dinner, etc)?"

Is this a personal vendetta? Because the point arises that the guy has mentioned many times that I don't speak to them, I'm very quiet, I ignored him during a PhD gathering when he tried to talk to me but i didn't talk to him. He also told her that he introduced himself to me and I still didn't talk to him.
I just don't like them that much so I don't talk to him or his friends
