Was he picking on me?

We went out for one of my friend’s birthday party. When the party was over he drove us (his two sisters, my sister and I) home. I dont talk much and I did not talk much while we were in his car. He confirmed from my sister if he left his clothes at the back of the car and he turned the light at the back of the car on and looked back at me and said “I just wanted to make sure all my girlies were complete”. Was he picking on me because of my quietness?

Hmm that's a weird situation girl. From your description, it kinda sounds like he could've been teasing you a little bit about being quiet. Guys can be clueless sometimes though, so who knows!

A few things that make me think it might've been light-hearted picking on:

- The way he drew attention to checking on "all his girlies" in the back, like making a joke about keeping you all accounted for

- Turning on the light specifically to look at you when you were being shy and not talking much

- Could be his way of trying to include you in the conversation even if you were staying quiet

At the same time, it's hard to say 100% without knowing his tone of voice. And some guys just joke around like that with everyone.

If it bothered you though, that's valid! Don't feel bad about being quiet either - you be you. My advice would be, if you see him again, don't be afraid to speak up more if you feel like it. Might send the message you're not as shy next time! But honestly don't worry too much about it.

I thought he was insinuating how invisible I was because he looked directly at me and said “just wanted to confirm my girlies were complete” and he saw me get into his car

He always likes to emphasizing how quiet I am. How quiet girls are low key crazy and even one time when I stepped into the room with his friends he was like I know her she walks into the room and utters just two words. Maybe this was one of those moments. This isn’t his first time of doing something like this
