Is it alarming to have a new boyfriend a month after a 5 year relationship?

My best friend broken up with her boyfriend of 5 years bc he moved countries with his fam and he treated her poorly anyway so waiting for him to come back in a year felt pointless …

A month and a half later she has a whole new boyfriend …. But it’s alarming to me because she was literally just talking about getting flights to visit him 3 weeks ago now she’s in a new relationship

She obviously wasn't that serious about the first guy, if she is firing up a new flame this quickly. She is either A. Rushing things and not giving herself time, or B. Didn't care about the first guy that much in the first place. I would just sit back and let this thing ride itself out. Eventually she will learn and maybe that will be the wake up call she needs.

I have heard that girls can process the breakup emotions before executing the breakup, this is what enables them to rebound into other relationships relatively quickly.

I don't know how you are in this regard, but a one month rebound after five years seems rather quick to say the least.

PS: I'm not intending to diminish your relationship with the use of the word "rebound".

I say good for her. You're not supposed to become a nun or a spinster just because you had a relationship with some "boyfriend". It was a relationship, not a marriage. Move on. Don't let grass grow under your feet. Live life. Find someone better.

Yes it is alarming because she hasn’t had time to grieve the other relationship even if it was bad. It can lead to many unresolved issues for the new guy.
