Trending & News Yes. Because I doubt it has anything to do with skin colour or features in general and more to do with some false stereotype the person has about black people. There are millions of black people in the world, with various shades of dark skin, and different physical & personality traits. Some black people even look more white than some white people. There is no way anyone can say that there aren't at least a few black people they find attractive, without making a concerted effort to focus on flaws.
I for example have a strong preference for girls with long hair. That doesn't mean that I never met/saw attractive short-haired girls. Nor does it mean that I'd break up with my girlfriend if she lost her hair to cancer or something else beyond her control.
Look, I can understand. People are terrified of being labelled something they perceive as negative even when their actions/choices fit that label. This is due to our concern with projecting a public image that sparks some degree of admiration from strangers.
It's not my job or right to tell someone who to date or not. Date who you want. However, the fact that you actively choose to exclude a significant percentage of the human race from your dating pool is prejudiced. The good thing is that it is harmless prejudice, but it is prejudice by the very definition of the word. A lot of people with prejudices like to claim that they simply have preferences. Having preferences means assigning a higher value to certain things/features over others in the calculation of averages. When preference becomes exclusionary i. e. it becomes the one deal breaker in an otherwise perfect person, it becomes prejudice.
No one is perfect, and we all have prejudices. If your prejudices aren't harming anyone, and you aren't spreading them to others, own them, and stop looking for people to reassure you that your moral compass is not a bit off. The opinions of strangers aren't that important.
To answer that question in a meaningful way, first you need to define "racism," then you need to understand why someone wold not be attracted to a certain race.
1. In my usage of the term, "racism" means a conscious attitude and willingness to treat people of a particular race in a different way simply because of their race. Do you fine it differently?
2. Is physical/sexual attraction something that originates in a conscious attitude or is it subconscious?
what if you just aren't physically attracted to them?
When you ARE attracted to someone, is that a conscious decision that you make or is it a subconscious process?
You don’t find ANY of them attractive? Not even one black woman? Interesting. . .
According to the Oxford Dictionary, the definition of a ‘racist’ is:
“a person who is prejudiced against or antagonistic toward people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.“
As long as you do not disrespect/hate them in any way, you are not racist. It would only be racist if you belittle them and hate on them based off of those ridiculous stereotypes. I would say that having a racial preferences isn’t racist. Nobody would really care, to be honest. You do you.
@Jackpot7s What are you trying to convey exactly? I’m talking about modern day racism. Slavery was abolished ages ago. How the heck did slavery come into this?
@Jackpot7s Did you even read what I wrote in my opinion? Don’t read halfway through and make false assumptions. I highly suggest you read my opinion again or
“I would say that having a racial preferences isn’t racist. Nobody would really care, to be honest. You do you.“
This was my last paragraph. I advise you to read one’s opinion fully instead of giving pointless replies and wasting their time.
**I would say that having a racial preference isn’t racist** sorry for the typo. The “or” in one of my replies is a typo as well.
@Jackpot7s Nope, I’m not.
@Jackpot7s Need I remind you, that you were the one who replied to my opinion without even reading what I’ve written fully? I merely replied to your comment.
No, I would only date white guys… But that doesn’t mean I don’t find other people in difference races attractive. It’s just a preference in who you wanna date
would you date a guy with naturally tan skin
I have lol. White guys with tan skin.

The most likely scenario hopefully, is that the person isn't attracted to a particular set of traits that just so happen to occur more often in certain races than others. For example, if you dislike the black hair + black eyes combo, then your chances of being attracted to an eastern Asian individual are slim (since the majority have black hair and eyes).
On the other hand, if someone told me explicitly that they wouldn't associate with me because of my skin colour or my nationality (both explicit determiners of race), then I'd be inclined to call them a racist person.
No I don't think so. Its like I'm only attracted to whites and Mexicans but that doesn't make me racist. I'm just not attracted to other races. Thats like saying if you're not attracted to your same gender and won't date same gender as you it makes you homophobic
It's called preference. However, if a white woman won't date a black guy, then she'll be label a racist, but if a black woman won't date a white man, that's perfectly ok, she's not being racist. It's all a bunch of BS. you date who you want, it's all your preference.
Its indeed racist. For example. I have a neighbor who won't date muslims... and let me tell you why.. its because she says they stink and are dirty or blah blah. she's over generalizing. she's wrong for that attitude and she knows it. Just like you
what if you just aren't physically attracted to them?
Men are sex fiends... a vagina is vagina to them mostly. But you're judging based on what's on the outside. You're prejudice just admit it
"Men are sex fiends. A vagina is vagina to them mostly" No a vagina isn't just a vagina to most; I'm assuming you are a man hater. stop trying to race bait something when it has nothing to do with racism
But also sexism and racism are two different things
Muslim isn't a race.
@ChaseLonnergan culture, religion, backround you name it
No. You can’t help who you’re attracted to. Same as it’s not sexist if a gay man won’t date women.
@Agape93
It is often said that if someone will not date someone who is transgender, they are transphobic. I personally don't think that is correct and I am wondering what you think of this?
I think it's nonsense. Not wanting to date or fuck a certain demographic doesn't make one racist, sexist or whatever phobic. For instance, there's Indians on here I get along great with. But would I fuck an Indian dude? No, and that's because of their behavior that I have personally witnessed.
This whole nonsense is just getting out of hand
100% you are literally valuing something based on the color of ones skin.
what if you just aren't physically attracted to them?
🤣 exactly!
Alright then- is it equally racist if someone won't date someone who is blonde because this person isn't attracted to blonde people? And if not, why not?
And likewise, if someone won't date someone who is obese because this person isn't attracted to obese people, is it fat-phobic/fat-shaming? If someone won't date someone who is anorexic because this person isn't attracted to anorexic people, is it slim-phobic/skinny-shaming? If someone won't date a transgender person because this person isn't attracted to transgender people, is that transphobic? Or do some people just need to lose their inflated sense of sexual entitlement?
@DevilsAdvocator dude we are specifically ONLY talking about race. To me you're trying to run circles around me but you're just exhausting yourself
@Dojaphat456 How is being 'blonde' or not any more 'about race' than being 'black' or not? Both the color of our skin and our hair are racially inherited traits, are they not? And whilst hair dyes exist, allowing people to alter the color of their hair, so do skin lightening and darkening/'tanning' products, for the purpose of enabling people to alter their skin tone. "You could just change it to be a different color" is an argument that can be applied equally for both hair color and skin tone. So answer my first question- is it equally racist if someone won't date someone who is blonde because this person isn't attracted to blonde people? And if not, why not?
@DevilsAdvocator they are dumb because they are either prejudice or bias
Personal liking and comfort level and racism are two different things.
Dating is on mutual liking and comfort levels.
Racism is when a person demeans and belittles someone's abilities because of skin color.
No, not in the slightest, it's merely an individual's rightful preference.
Racism is where you hate on/discriminate a race. Having a dating preference/attraction is not racist.
That’s fine. It becomes racist if you start to belittle the race then add “that’s why I don’t don’t them”.
No, since racism is hatred to another person's skin color or culture. It seems they aren't physically attracted to that person for such matters.
I only date black men, I think it is only preference for most people.
No. Sexual preference is very deeply psychological. So our attraction to skin tone, hair color, etc…is linked to something in our past. Racism is based on stupid thoughts about a whole community of people.
You mean they are not physically attracted to darker skin?
Of course that isn't racist.
Wtf no! If you don’t Asians or white are you racist?
I don’t date black or extremely white girls or FOBS Asians!
That’s called preferences!
Some black guys only date white girls.
I care less if they are not attracted to black people. Plenty of fishes, I have some girls said they attracted to me but don't date black men I was like bye bye Felicia
people have preferences. everyone has traits they find unattractive.
Kinda possible. Préférences. But for myself, I find that I can find beautiful attractive women in every single country.
Well yeah, what else would it be if they are not attracted to a whole race? It doesn't even make sense unless it's a racist reasoning.
Technically definition of racism to exclude a race... because race.
However usually occurs passively due to environment.
... well, at least as far as people tend to define it. Exclusion of a group just for the sake of excluding said group
Nope. You aren't obligated to like nor find any race attractive.
No need to ask. Look up the definition of racist. It's clearly defined.
If it's just a question of aesthetic taste, no.
If the motivation is racism, then yes.
People have all kinds of different preferences. Having a preference doesn't make a person racist.
I think every fine Southern gentleman
Should partake of his dark princesses
It’s only racist if she’s a member of the kkk and it is racist if she brings you to a kkk meeting for a date, even if it’s the boyfriend thing to do.
No it is not. It’s called a preference.
Those are two very different things.
No its called preference
Nope and if people say yes I’m done
absolutely NOOOOOOOOO
No. People just have different preferences
Not at all
I’m black myself and I don’t do that
Nope.
Nope
Yeah, it's racist

No who cares
is this person you?
