It’s stupid. Refusing to date outside your race isn’t racist. I’m a white man who’s only interested in dating white women. If I’m still considered a racist because of it so be it. If for example a black man only wants to date black women, would I consider him a racist? No is the answer.
You can’t help what you’re attracted to.
Calling someone a racist because he/she refuses to date outside his/her race is like saying all homosexuals are sexist.
If you actually go and look at an English dictionary from before Google started modifying human language to push a communist narrative you will find out what racism really means. Google was founded in 1997. The definition I like to use most often is from a dictionary from 1994 but is still easily accessible to the public if they want to know what words really mean. If you find older dictionaries they usually come with far more context on the meaning of words. So what does the word racism mean?
Racism: The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
As can be logically deduced from the definition there are two conditions that must be met together in union. First, race has to be the driving factor for specific differences in human character or ability. That is to say, because you are Black, you must have a low IQ. There is no standard deviation of intelligence in Black people, they must all have a low IQ. You can't have a masterful speech writer and orator like MLK or a bright economists like Thomas Sowell or a great legal mind like Clarence Thomas, no all Blacks must be border line mentally retarded based on the very fact that they are Black. Second in contrast a different race like Whites or Asians must all be bright and have a high IQ specifically because they were born White or Asian. You can't have any low IQ White ANTIFA communists smoking meth in a tent on the street in Portland after taking some crack shits behind a dumpster that then proceed to go out and smashing up the windows at the local Target before looting the products with a mob of their Nazi friends because, they must have a high IQ specifically because they are White. The second condition that must be met is that an individual must believe that this particular difference of ability or character solely based on race makes one race superior to the other race. That's what racism is. It's that exact. Racism doesn't mean you hate someone. Racism doesn't mean you make fun of people and make jokes about them. Racism doesn't mean you criticize groups of people. Racism doesn't mean you don't hire someone to work for you. Racism doesn't mean any of that. All that bullshit is just a communist perversion of the English language to insight a class struggle so that they can provoke a violent revolution and steal power from the people to form a dictatorship.
You actually WON'T find out what racism actually means in the dictionary. You will find a surface level definition that is convenient for an indoctrinated American that uses wording such as "communist perversion". . . . . ugh. . . . . . I know what the woke folk are talking about, however. All humans are human, and just about everyone is attractive in some sense.
To absolutely write off an entire group of people as "not attractive" at all, or never in any sense, seems narrow. But people are raised in isolated neighborhoods, schools, churches, towns where they never interact with a variety of people or are exposed to different cultures.
They're also raised by parents who would never encourage them to mix with different people, or accept if they did.
The reasons BEHIND this separatism is bias, prejudice and racism. If we all grew up together, went to school and church together, a lot of people would feel differently than you do, as we're all human and all have intrinsic beauty.

So from that statement my inference is, for whatever host of reasons, he's not attracted to black or other women who are not white. He didn't say he wasn't attracted to the black women he's "met." And that does mean that to him black and other women are not attractive, or additionally, socially acceptable to date.
The basis of this is not being exposed to people from said groups, not living in racially/culturally diverse, interactive situations and not being brought up to consider people in other groups as attractive, desirable, smart and worthy as you are. Racism is behind most of this. We've all, int the US been rasied in this society. None of us come out unscathed and to deny this and say it's ONLY about preference/choice, is foolish.
If everybody in the US was white, there would be separations based on class, socioeconomics, cultural backgrounds, intelligence and any host of other differences. Humans are always doing this. They find some ISM to separate themselves from others, to enforce biases and prejudices. Race is the dominant one in America due to the history Africans being brought here as chattel and kept as slaves for 300 years. Then Jim Crow laws kept blacks as a permanent underclass, kept them out of higher education, skilled jobs. It wasn't until 1956 that a law was passed to allow black children to attend the same schools as white children and what happened? White families were incensed, pulled their kids out of public schools, ranted about miscegenation... We are two generations past Brown V. Board of education and white families fled cities so their children would NOT be in school with blacks.
People are taught not to interact with people who are different from them in most cases. When there is little interaction, biases and prejudices occur.

A white person isn't going to look the same as an East Asian person, and an East Asian person isn't going to look the same as a black person. So if attraction is based on looks, I don't understand why everyone is so surprised that someone could be attracted to certain races and not others. That's what they like!
@Jamie05rhs There is only one race. The human race. Because people stay in and intermarry and keep genetics in limited areas, those groups of people look similar. People like what is familiar to them. And therefore, logically, the unfamiliar, or foreign, is deigned "unattractive."
I know all the reasons for these preferences. They are still the results of bias, prejudice and isms. There's nothing wrong with admitting this. And there will be less of this when all peoples interact more globally. Eventually, most of us will be tan with slightly slanted eyes.

But be aware why such preferences occur. Dominant cultures force their preferences on all non dominant cultures. It happens the world over. It's why round eye surgery is the top plastic surgery in Korea. It's why Michael Jackson had a million nose surgeries and bleached his skin, notwithstanding his skin problem. In my world, racism involves a conscious process, a decision to treat someone differently solely because they are a member of a particular race.
When I meet a woman the first time, I almost always either feel a physical attraction, or don't. If my initial response is to be not attracted, I can't convince myself to become attracted. It's like liver; I don't like it and no amount of logic or reasoning can convince me to like it.
I am not attracted to black women and have never felt any desire to be romantically involved with any black woman. I can't give you a reason for this because it is not the result of a conscious thought process. So how can anyone conclude that I have consciously decided to not be attracted to black women?
I am not a white supremacist! I have dated women from many different nations, including Hispanic and Asian women, as well as one American Indian woman.
I think anyone who wants to call this "racism" is just looking for an opportunity to virtue signal. . . and that is an indication of over-compensation for ego deficits.

It is racist because you exclude women as potential partners solely based on the race you identify them as. The black person in your example also shows racist behavior as it is just the same case.
A preference is a different thing. For example, you may generally prefer light skin over dark skin or the reverse. For an actual woman you meet you would then still consider the complete person and typically ignore your general preference now and then.
I had a Chinese friend who was sure that he preferred East Asian women over European women. "What about Virginie?" I asked him about a French woman we both knew. "Ah, with Virginie it is different. Some European women are very attractive." - The individual remains more important than the race and that's how it should be.

Yes but I believe almost all (probably even all) people are attracted to men or women of any background. But being attracted to someone and being comfortable settling with someone due to sharing similar backgrounds and life experiences are two different things. Racial compatibility I can understand. Race is different to sex. So that comparison is a false equivalency. One is solely judging based on colour of skin which has no logical reason to be less attracted to, the other has logic reason to why you aren't attracted to what's down there as a dick and vagina are very different things.

If someone usually dates people from their own race just because they usually find them attractive that is just preference. I dont think its racist to prefer to date your own. I do however think its odd when people claim to find an entire race unattractive. For what it’s worth, studies show whites in the US have lower in-group preference than minorities on average. Of course, every individual is different.
Well biases come from fear of being hurt by choosing outside one's group and fear of lack of acceptance and fear of being thought less of by your main group/peers... I still say all of this IS based on imbedded racism, institutionalized racism, and in the fate of the untouchables in India and a host of biases, prejudices and colonialism.
Some of these biases are thousands of years old and have nothing to do with colonialism. They existed among a group of people long before europeans showed up. As with the hatred of the Hmong people in China. There was definite racism against the Chinese immigrants who came here in the mid 1800s and after the Boxer Rebellion. And the Japanese in California, who got shunted into prison camps during WWII. So the spector of racism and bias acts on our subconscious. It is the fear of the other and the different. It is being "in" with the group we most regularly interact. It's human. Common. But not great.

As long as you dont disrespect women of other races, i dont think its racism. If you only like white women, then you only date white women. What else are you gonna do? I think it’s understandable for a person to prefer their own race. The same culture, family background, or purely physical, etc etc. Dont get me wrong, i dont have anything against interracial couples. I think that's due more to the current environment we're in than anything else. I’ve always been more attracted to certain physical features which are usually found within my own race. Same with certain behaviors and lifestyle choices. If I found similar traits in other races then I would find that person physically attractive. I don’t think having a preference is racist.
I don’t see it as racist, but I do feel that it is rather strange for someone to announce or emphasize that they only prefer to date specific race, if nobody asks. I am not talking about you, but as in general. People are free to date outside or stick to their own kind. The only time I have issue is when they get older and they couldn’t find the race they prefer, they start looking for a person who doesn’t belong to his preference. I have seen this a lot of times.

There is nothing wrong with dating someone with the same culture and background. There's also a lot to learn when dating outside your culture. There are so many challenges dating outside your race especially if they weren't born in your country. Language can be misinterpreted, food from other countries is hit or miss and some traditions and customs can seem strange.
