As an Asian woman I really don't like it. It goes beyond just having a preference of a certain physical type. If it was similar to the whole "do you prefer darker hair or lighter hair" preference thing then it wouldn't be a big deal. However, I've gotten a lot of men over-sexualize me because of my race. When I say "over-sexualize" I don't mean just "thinks I look hot" or "My boyfriend really wants me sexually". Both those are good things. It's that guys with Asian fetishes often cross into super creepy (and sometimes even scary) territory. Moreover, they often look at you more so as a sex object than an actual person. They're not interested in you as a person at all. The only thing that interests them about you is a weird sexual fantasy they've projected on you because of your race.
For almost my entire life I only dated Asian guys because I was so freaked/weirded out by this Asian fettish thing a lot of other guys have. My boyfriend right now is white, but he's the first in forever. It also took quite a bit of time for me to let my guard down about being worried he might only be interested in me because of some Asian fettish.
How do we know you're even Asian?
Troll somewhere else with this racist crap.
All men and women sexually objectify each other regardless of race.
Acting as if White men are the only ones is racist.
@AmyLascider212
Especially since you can't fetishize an entire person it isn't even possible.
Some people just want to stop us white men and Asian women from being together because they don't like it. Everyone can be attracted to they're attracted to.
@Tyson_Reckford
Exactly, just love whoever you want to love. If your preference is Asian women treat them with respect, but also don't accept racist trolls treating you like you're some kind of monster for it.
There are a lot of people that are jealous of interracial relationships for whatever reason.
They shouldn't be generalizing white men being with Asian women as something negative, or judging an entire race by one incident with an individual.
People should be allowed to be attracted to whoever they want without judgement.
Anyone who think once you go Black you never go back hasn't been paying attention.
- Gwen Stefani dated a black guy and ended up marrying 2 different white guys.
- Ariana Grande dated Black guys and white guys and ended up marrying a white guy.
- Zendaya used to date Black guys and ended up with Tom Holland.
- Jennifer Lopez used to date Black guys, but went back to Ben Affleck.
- Kim Kardashian was famous for dating Black guys, but dumped Kanye for Pete Davidson.
I could go on and on... That racist saying isn't true obviously.
I don't know. I told my story on this site about how I got my second girlfriend in the US at a clothing store. She was a cashier and asked me where I was from, and so I told her I'm from Japan. Then she said she loves Japanese culture and asked me to write her name in Japanese and I did in Katakana. Then she gave me her phone in response.
Then some people on here thought she had a Japanese fetish. From what I could tell she was genuinely interested in the culture and not just necessarily my race. I'm not even racially Japanese anyway. I'm half-white.
So I don't know if this is always about racial phenotypes. Some people might just be really and earnestly interested in meeting people from other cultures and learning more about them.

I feel like people are too quick to assume that anyone interested in someone of another racial phenotype than their own must somehow have a fetish. It might be a very healthy interest and attraction even if they call us "exotic".
Also, why isn't it called a fetish if someone dates someone of the same race?
For another example, my first serious girlfriend in university was black. Then there were some rude people telling me that I have "jungle fever". I wasn't specifically attracted to black women. She was just someone I clicked so much with in university that I found attractive. I find at least some women attractive in all racial categories.
I don't care. A lot of chicks fetishized my white skin, the whole "twilight" craze really got a lot of women to approach me.
It's not much different from women wanting to fuck me because my dick is big, or because of my long hair.
And rarely a single trait alone will get you laid.

It doesn't fit the definition of a fetish for one thing.
Those are just terms that racist and jealous people use to shame others from dating interracially. It's definitely a preference, and some people get offended when they're not your preference.
That's where these nasty terms like "Yellow fever and Asian fetish" start getting used.
It's just racist garbage.
I get that impression too like this is largely coming from racial and cultural supremacists who don't want their cultures and bloods to mix in any way.
@HighlyVolatile
It can be from racism or just plain jealously.
Also, the concept that saying someone is "Exotic looking" is bad is also nonsense.
Exotic looking just means that you have the physical appearance and features of somebody from a distant country. Everybody is Exotic looking to somebody and it's natural to find different kinds of people interesting and attractive.
I never got offended when women called me that. I took it as a compliment. :-D My little sister got called it a lot too though and it upset her. I don't really see what there is to get upset about.
It's weird if it has to be a race, since sometimes there are dark Europeans and white Africans. Every time I have been with an Asian women, they felt tighter than any women I been with so I do have a preference for them to higher my chance of being happy
I think most people do not like being fetishized period.. it's dehumanizing.
