I feel completely shattered, how to cope up with this?

I liked this guy a lot and confessed about my feelings to him.. He rejected me, but always gave me hope that things could work in future.. He used to say he does not want to get into a relationship and he can't hurt a good woman like me.. He acted hot and cold with me.. He even told a friend of mine that he liked me in the beginning but he thought that I am very innocent and he would hurt me.. He used to treat me special sometimes, called me cutest and babygirl as well.. Later I came to know that he got into a casual relationship with another woman while he acted hot and cold with me and rejected me, I even came to know that he has multiple one night stands, almost everyday and he even visits prostitutes.. I don't know what to do.. I feel shattered as to how can I like a person like this.. He is still in our friends circle.. What to do? Feel like slapping him

I'm sorry, but he said he didn't want a relationship, he would hurt you, and he even acted hot and cold with you which was a rejection. This guy has shown you in more ways than one that he did not want to be with you. Because, you liked him so much you developed a thought in your head that eventually you two would be something and therefore, you think he contributed to that because he was saying sweet things to you here and there. Here's the thing, you were waiting on him to come around even after he rejected you, that's why he's teasing you with sweet things. He never promised you a relationship. 5% was him leading you on, 95% was your mind leading yourself on.
