Do people still go to a strangers house on the 1st date?

I'm my 20's I was more free n fun and I would go to a guy's place or go to his on a 1st date. Now in my 30s I never go to a guy's place on a first date, especially if we met on a dating app.

I ask because 2 guy's in their 30s asked me if I wanted to chill at my place or theirs?
I'm thinking Hell No, because they want just1 thing. I want to actually date someone and see where it goes.

I won’t go to a guys place at all, he can come to mine, you go to a guys home and he is in control: if he kidnaps you or kills you, nobody will know, and I’m too lazy to arrange taxi to a man’s house with the pandemic making buses bad transportation options.

If I don't know a person I'm not inviting them into my home or going to theirs.
As far as I'm concerned they could rape, stalk and murder me, in the privacy of a home. In a public space you have the opportunity to lose them, have someone else help protect you.
The above I mentioned can still happen but I just feel personally. I'm quite happy to meet a guy for a coffee as they like to say.

i agree no one does that anyone , i've definitly never been to a girls house that soon. maybe in college years people do this cause they felt more comfortable with other people from college , you don't assume there is criminals or rapists in your student res so any person there is seen as safe.

I think that was more common when you just meet somebody at a bar or a club somewhere and you go back to their house or took them back to your house to have sex. Back then, having sex in cars was extremely awkward and uncomfortable.

For the first date, I would recommend meeting in a public place. People who jump right into "at my place" are just looking to JUMP INTO something else. I would have reason to be suspicious. But anyone in general who proposes this, I would avoid them altogether.

When I have sex with a woman on the first date, I never take her to my house, because I wouldn't have a serious relationship with a woman that I have sex with on the first date.

Well I always think it's not polite to invite a woman over on the first day but I've had women invite themselves over or invite me over.
