I'd say because so many men are taken to the cleaners through divorce.
Alimony.
Child support (the men is paying to support the child when they stay with him. Let her pay for the time the kid lives with her).
Losing homes, having to pay her some of your retirement accounts
Lawyer fees.
There are so few noble, classy women left in the world. So many are partiers, drinkers, sleep around, so few want to be wives, they want to sleep around until 30 and then find some fool willing to marry them and commit their finances to her and the lawyers after she's slept around with 20 guys through her 20's.
So many women put out... they don't have to marry her to get sex.
Many are "why bother", why commit, why legally attach my finances to her when she's already putting out on date 3 and has already slept with 10 other guys... I'll just have my fun and be guy 11 and then move on to some other chick.
There are like one million reasons not to marry.

So I seen a few of these arguments. And the nr 1 trend in these are they are mostly USA type of demographic. I don't really recognize this in the European demographic, I myself is European. How ever we tend to notice the loudest people more, they do not represent all people. These loud people are simply just a trash of a person. If you go to a let's say a mall, you see the flashy people first. Stick around and pay attention to the other people, you will find a few gold of people in there, and they do not have these type of mentality.

And most of them are FAT asf too.

We are equal, woman work and are proud of it, so it's not expected that the man pay for the date. But it's expected the men have a job at least. The pay in Europe for the most part is good so it don't really matter if your a barista or a business man, we still manage fine. Some maybe want a date on their own pay lvl. But for most part we don't care. A average European are more cultural inteligente then a average American, meaning we can actually name countries on a map
