Ever been to a wedding and you heard the pastor talking about marriage represents a union and the two become one? The relationship takes on an identity and it is more important than either of the individual partners. Put the relationship first!

In general it would be as equal as possible. Who is in most need should get the most help with those. But when it comes down to it, it will be myself, and leaving my partner could be a consequence if I will not thrive in the relationship for a long time. I would also expect my partner to take responsibility for his own needs.

I always put my partner first. If you're with the right person the love will be returned 3 fold. If it doesn't then you need to re-examine with you're with the right person or not.
