Should I be direct and tell a girl I like her?

I’ve gotten to know this amazing girl over the course of the school year. We’ve hung out one on one a bunch, but they were never really official dates. Should I tell this girl directly that I like her? If yes, what should I say?

Well, it seems like you're friends at the very least. I don't think she'll give you a negative response even though it might not be the best response. You definitely have to tell her eventually and at this stage, earlier is definitely better than later, and don't make it seem like your world is gonna fall apart without her. If you feel like she has no idea that you're into her, then you have to show romantic interest. I would advise playful flirting like "Dang you are rockin that outfit" but not if it's like lounge wear. You want your compliments to be sincere. Also, be socially aware. Don't go saying that while she has her headphones on and going to the bathroom. And when you get to the "I like you" part, keep it short and simple. This is not a marriage proposal. Even if this catches her off guard and she doesn't give you the best response, she will at least see the possibility that you have interest in her romantically and if that's in her head, she'll think about it and possibly give you a chance in the future. She might already like you though, but I can't really be sure from here.
