Men are attracted to women they think they can "save" and women are attracted to men they think they can "fix"?

Yeah somewhat. When I was younger I used to get attracted to guys that I can “fix” but now I realize I’m the one that needs “fixing” lol so I’ve been focusing on fixing myself. I’m not too sure about men looking to for someone to “save” tho, although my current boyfriend seems to fit the bill. He wants to be the savior/hero/protector

You hear it so often that a guy falls for a girl who has "issues". Like an abusive partner, especially.

He thinks that he'll be able to "save" her because he'll treat her better, etc...

Oh that makes sense. My boyfriend is trying hard to treat me better than my ex did even tho my ex was nothing but wonderful lol My boyfriend is trying hard to treat me better to the point where he’s basically controlling

The controlling part is that he won’t let me go out alone, or take an uber, or go to the gym alone, etc. I have to go with him bc he’s scared that something bad might happen to me, he said he’s just being protective lol

i am fairly unfixable and would not change how I am for someone.

so no, I don’t agree with it and it’s a bad grounding for a relationship.
