How should I ask a girl out that recently broke up with her boyfriend?

Girl I met a few months ago broke up with her boyfriend of a few years.
She approached me in a bar for a chat, and I asked her where her boyfriend was, and she told me he left her for a younger girl. She looked pretty cut up by this obviously. We didn't continue the conversation as she was just getting picked up.
When I first met her, she had me intrigued, seems like the girl who 'wears her heart on her sleeve' I'm keen to ask her out, but not sure if it might be to early? Or what I should say to her?

Realistically, either she won't want to date right now or she'll use you, knowingly or unknowingly, to smother her grieving process. You would in all likelihood be constantly compared to him, usually unfavorably because she won't be over him yet.
Honestly its a gamble, big risk of getting friendzoned if you dont make you're interest known, but expressing interest could also make her want to avoid you or even make her hostile. you're going to have to feel out the right time.
In your position, Id ask her if she wants to chill sometime, do fun things, be genuinely trustworthy and patient. she's going to have to see who you are outside of a romantic context, in order to not make comparisons. You will have to make your interest known before to long passes though, and that could go any which way, hopefully she'll see something better and reciprocate.
you're playing with fire on this one, so go in knowing the risks and hope for the best. Show care, but dont be an ass kisser. Show patience, but dont wait forever.

If I'm being honest you shouldn't if she recently broke up with someone unless she shows hints of her having interest in you
