A person's body count is the business of their potential partner, why do people think it's not?

Question

If I didn't sleep with a bunch of people, I have every right to know if my potential partner has the same standard and values as me. (And no, it's not insecurities so don't even go there, it's about personal values)

I’m not sure. Tbh I’ve never asked a potential partner their body count they always brought it up first. However I do feel, if you ask a girl her body count she could see it as a red flag maybe? It’s kinda like one of those things I think where you aren’t supposed to ask a woman her age or weight lol. But I don't know when it’s came up in conversation I’ve never thought strangely of the guy asking it or offended by it. Because usually I’ve been talking to the person for a while. But I could see it as being none of one’s buisness where there’s some people (guys specifically) that hit up random girls on the internet and ask them personal sexual questions and they don’t even know them.. then I can see where it’s none of the persons buisness to know that. But to sum it up, if it’s someone you’ve been talking to for like a while and they say it’s none of your buisness.. I’d take it as a red flag.

I just see it as an easy means to sort people out. If they don't want to disclose their history, it's probably because they have a good reason to be embarrassed about it. In which case I'm not interested in them anyway.

You have to remember that most people are afraid of the truth and would rather have a relationship based on a pretty lie, rather than one based on harsh truth. They also know that in general, only a person ashamed of their past has reason to hide it, and that is why they try to use shaming tactics of 'you're insecure' in order to get their own way. But that is simply projection.

Ultimately a high body count always tells a person something, it is an indicator and rarely does it indicate anything healthy, positive or beneficial.

Not on the first date but later down the road. I don't really care about a woman's past as much if she is a Christian now or maybe backslid and is not like that anymore.

But see I don't want to get married and she cheats on me and gives me a STD/STI or ends up having a child with another man

I think it's both.
People have a choice to keep their sexual history private if they want to, but you also have the choice to not date that person if you feel that knowing their sexual history is important to you.
Ultimately everyone has choices in the situation. If she feels her history is her business only, and you feel like you want a partner who's transparent about it then you're not gonna be compatible in that instance.
