It seems to be the way people prefer to communicate these days. It gives guys a minute to think before they reply rather than being on the spot on a voice call. Guys that are players prefer it so they can be chatting with many women at the same time.

Guys are generally not as talkative as girls. That's actually a recognised fact.

Personally though? I don't like talking on the phone OR texting.. I'm very much a face to face person.
