Still, women have the god-awful tendency to lose or break or not care for things because its not important to them - but it's important to him. So, treat his shit with the ultimate respect. At the same time, that can be tiresome.
Here's an example:
11 years ago, I spent few hundred $ on a new flatware set from Oneida. Well, that pattern is no longer being produced. But my wife is careless with flatware. So, now we are down to 4 irreplaceable forks from 8. We are missing other pieces too. She doesn't put a strainer above the garbage disposal and is careless cleaning dishes putting food in the trash can. So, what happens? Forks go in the trash or in the garbage disposal or end up in her camper to be used by others and never to be seen again. And since you can't replace the items, what you really need to do is buy a whole new flatware set in another pattern - a pattern you don't like and doesn't go with your dishware... So, another $1000 wasted...
Same with tools. AND WITH MEN... FUCK NOT WITH HIS TOOLS...
Lord knows how many tools I've had to replace because my wife is just so careless and moves things about between trailer, garage, and house.
So, bottom line, be as careful with shit - yours, his, anyone's - as if it was your child.
If you can't handle that - and that may be too much pressure for a lot of woman - than get a guy less uptight about stuff. The problem with that is that you will be more uptight than him and the situation will be reversed.
It depends on why he's so protective of his stuff. Most people would jump to the conclusion that he might cheating on you, and I might think so, too. He might also be one of those people that care way too much about their stuff.
I mean to be fair you're just a girlfriend. Unless he is specifically said he is dating to marry, chances are you're not much more than a friend with benefits.
