Hoarding is a form of OCD. It's compulsive.
There are different levels. The pictures are level 5 (of 5). Most people are not that extreme.
The show makes it sound so simple - as do the answers on here to "just clear up". It's not that easy.
OCD is usually triggered by trauma. It manifests itself in different ways from the "socially acceptable" pseudo-minimalist to the "social reject" hoarder.
I personally know a couple who experienced a similar trauma age 12. One lost a parent and the other a sibling. One became a hoarder, the other a pseudo-minimalist. Their marriage is going through a rough time because of their differences at the moment. One is trying to tackle the issue with a therapist - the hoarder - and the other isn't because it's not considered "a problem". That's what's causing the issue in their relationship.
Stop making light of people's illnesses. Don't judge what you clearly know fuck all about
This explains collecting vs hoarding.

I would not be with a hoarder because it has a high negative impact on your life. It can get to a point it becomes unsafe in the home. A lot of the time hoarding affects a persons hygiene.
Not date. But I will help him if he allows me to. This is a very sensitive disorder and should be treated with care and respect… However, I won’t close my doors if I have strong feelings of love for him. I’ll help him!
I was just thinking about this last night after watching an episode of friends!
I couldn’t live with a person who was a pigs mess like that… would drive me crazy…

I did once and it drove me crazy!
I rented a room years ago from a woman who was a hoarder! Every room (including mine) had her junk in it. Clothes mostly, there were knickknacks, shoes, boxes of things even I wouldn't buy let alone pass off to someone else as a gift. So, my answer is no, not only because of the woman I rented from but also because someone else's clutter drives me crazy!!
OH FUCK! As for me I’ll give all the ladies a chance but when it comes to a hoarder that would be an interesting experience. On the other side of things it would depend on what she’s hoarding. If she’s hoarding chainsaws I’m out like a fat kid in dodgeball.
If the person is hoarding cash that might change things.
Oh no. I notice that my mental health heavily relies on the spaces I occupy being clean or at least neat enough to where my schedule isn't being disrupted. I'm like this due to my high conscientiousness & high neuroticism. So, in this sense, I'm what many consider a "healthy neutronic."
It would drive me insane. They're going to have to clean it and KEEP it clean it or I won't ever come by again.
Are you following me again Missy? 😆
@Sparkie460 Remember I'm always watching :0:
🤪😁🤦
@Sparkie460 LOL
I couldn't. I don't have OCD, but I can't tolerate clutter or filth.
As long as he is hoarding cash, of course
‘Cause the boy with the cold hard cash is always Mr Right 🙂
it’s a reference to a 80’s song in case you don’t get it.. and oh, it’s a joke
It's from Material Girl by Madonna

I have. She waited so long to let me see her room. You can hoard and be organized though. I like having a lot of shoes but I have places to put them nice and neat things.
Clutter really gets on my fucking nerves. I have a rule for myself... If I haven't used it in a year, it's fucking gone. Don't keep bullshit.
i am the antithosis of a hoarder. i am 40 years old and for the first 34 years of my life i was 4 weeks away from being homeless. if i can't carry it on my person, i dont own it. if i haven't used it in 365 days, i throw it out.
Hard no. Could not do it. Subscriber to minimalism here.
I wouldn't date one, but I would go to them for any spare parts I needed!
It depends on what they're hoarding, their reasoning and if it's organised neatly.
Of course I would that's almost better than going to Disneyland
I kinda depends on if they're hoarding neatly or nasty & gross. Neatly is a things boxed up , labeled but all over the place... kinda like the guy in the pic
Absolutely not. I can't stand a lot of clutter in a home. It's one of those things that drive me crazy
yes, as long as there were no piles of old newspapers on the bed.
Depends what they're hoarding... the line between collecting and hoarding is merely organization
No he sure I’m scared a rat will crawl under my clothes
No,. because that usually isn't their only problem, and I couldn't live like that and or be around it
