Do you think this was disrespectful of the guy I’m dating to do?

I’ve been seeing this guy for 11 months. I mean I should start questioning myself on why it hasn’t gone any further than dating considering it’s been this long.
I’ve told him about my friends before and shown him pictures where’s he has done the same and I’ve met a few of his friends. The other night on Tuesday he went and followed one of my closest friends on Instagram and liked her picture from agies ago. Fortunately I’m logged into her Instagram as she gets me to upload things since her phone adds some weird effect to the photos. I confronted him and he said he didn’t remeber me showing him her and that it’s not disrespectful since he didn’t know that was my best friend.

he did in the end say to me I will unfollow her if you’d like me too. I said no since that makes me seem very controlling and I said it’s fine since you didn’t know. But is this not disrespectful? I know he said he didn’t remeber but I’ve shown him her thousands of times. I’d never go and try to get his best friends attention, he’d block me for that.

I get it’s only instagram but it’s the fact I told him that’s my best friend agies ago and he did it anyway.

You do know Instagram shows stuff based off your previous likes and not in any particular order in regards to time.
For example if you like a bunch of "blond mondel photos"it will show you other similar photos even ad far back as years ago.
This is of course presuming he wasn't scrolling through her profile liking every other photo.
Serious question, why are you two not formally in a relationship? You described it as just "seeing this guy", which suggests it's only casual

I think indeed that is very controlling of you, it is possible that instagram would reccomend your friend to him and he just followed her, you feel that it is disrespectful becasue you don't actually trust him and feel insecure, obviously there is a chance that he liked her. Anyways, this seems like a toxic relathionship that hasn't even started.
I recommend you forget him.
You shouldn't start a realtionship with someone you don't trust enough, it is normal to be jelous of certain things sometimes but you must talk about it instead of being confronting that is just annoying, to have a serious relationshio you must accept that you'll have to trust your partner and there always will be the possibility that he/she does something wrong but if you think about that all the time you just won't enjoy the relationship itself.
