My boyfriend likes to mini gaslight me when he’s stressed, he would say things like “I never said that!” when he clearly did so I would “test” him by asking the same question to see if he would change his answers and if he did, I would just simply ask for clarification and which statement is the truth without being accusatory.

No. Just let life take care of him. Testing him makes me look like an idiot. Allowing life to do it's work makes him look good or like a dick.
