Do I really like him, or is it just a passing feeling? is it stupid for me to like him if it might not work out?

I think I may have feelings for my best friends younger brother. he’s only younger than me by 1.5 years. I went on a trip with this boy, my best friend, and a few of our other friends. on this trip, i got to know him a lot better than i did before. i’ve been feeling super attracted to him emotionally. I’m not sure if it’s because I saw him every day for a week straight, or because he’s so different from the guys i’ve liked before. i feel like he was also pretty flirty with me (or maybe he was just being himself, i can’t tell). i also have an issue with the age gap, because it’s not a huge age gap, but eventually we’ll find ourselves in different stages of life. i don’t think my friend would mind us going out (obviously I’d ask first!). I really think we’d be good for each other, but i just don’t know how to feel or what to think.
