Because they're not flashy and exciting, and that's what a lot of women look for. They go off chasing the feeling of butterflies, but that infatuation, by definition, can't last. It's not quite the same as the way men will ignore nice women and go chasing after the prettier ones, but the fundamental idea is the same.

Additionally, nicer guys tend to be less insistent, since they don't want to come across as being... assholic, so sometimes women won't even realize they're interested. A nice guy will gather she's not really interested and move on, not wanting to cause her distress; a jerkier guy will just see that as a challenge.

because nice guys aren't exiting. they seem available and as economics 101 goes: goods that are high in supply are low in demand. like a woman can always try a hot, exciting guy first and then fall back to a nice guy, cause he's still gonna be there after she's done with the exciting one.

There are "nice guys" and there are guys who are nice, and both lose because unfortunately if you treat someone poorly, you're sending a message to them that your value is more than theirs, so you're more valuable.

Truthfully I think younger women want the dangerous, mysterious, closed off persona off a dude. They view nice guys who are truly genuine as back burner, second choice guys. But I know how this story goes, those girls usually get scorned in the end and look back of what if I changed this or that differently. I know we live in shitty and nice/genuine people are not easy to find. Even guys who claim to be nice can potentially obsessive, abusive freaks. Actions speak louder then words.

I hit the submit button by accident. High-Quality Women will choose Good Guys which is what I would call him. Nice Guys for me means someone who uses their niceness as an excuse to feel like they're entitled to women without bringing anything else with it. You say you're from England. I would say women over there (as well as in Europe) have some differences when compared to American Women. One of the main reasons Nice Guys or even Good Guys don't do as well is first off they may not have much to offer. They're also more likely to play it safe and not take the lead.
