Girls, do you usually ask a guy you’ve been seeing about his past relationships and dating history?

Just wondering how common this is to come up with a girl you’ve been seeing because as someone who has very little experience with dating and has never been in a relationship, I would never bring it up and I’ve always dreaded a girl bringing that up because she’ll probably get turned off by the fact that I’m so inexperienced at an older age.

I always ask about their most recent break up and why it ended, I also take note on how he talks about his ex. But I won’t reject a guy just bc he’s inexperienced. I myself have only been in 1 relationship (lasted almost 6 years tho) so I can’t really judge lol

I'd like to know. Not the details, but just generally how much experience someone has? Dating someone who's already lived with their partner is different than someone who never had a relationship.

I wouldn't be opposed to dating someone with no experience, but I would be a bit cautious.

Someone having a longer relationship (usually) means they know how to compromise and communicate. Someone successfully living with other people (usually) means they can compromise and manage a household. Doesn't guarantee it though.

If someone is used to being alone, and doing their own thing without having to consider anyone else, you don't know how they'll react when they do have a partner. Some people adapt and everything goes well, others don't.

That’s what’s discouraging for me, the fact that I’m almost 30 and have never dated is at the very least going to make a girl feel skeptical/cautious to date me because it just looks weird to them to be that old and have never been with anyone, and that’s when they start to wonder if something’s wrong with you. It honestly feels like dating is just gonna be an endless cycle of rejection at this point because I can never get off the ground due to my inexperience killing that initial attraction.

From what you said, someone with an established dating history and who had lived with their partner demonstrates stability and there’s some assurance that they know how to compromise and communicate. But someone with no experience who has been alone all their life is more unpredictable and risky since they still have to learn how to communicate and compromise and some might be so set in their ways from being alone that they aren’t willing to put in any effort in order to learn those things.

As long as you're honest and try to prove there's nothing wrong with you, you'll be okay. Just show that you're willing to put in effort.
