What should I do when my parents catch me out with my boyfriend?

Recently, I went out with my boyfriend, and my parents had told me along time ago to break up with him. He isn’t bad and just wants my parents to like him. This is my second time they have caught me with him and I don’t want to break up with him. Help me what should I do?

There isn’t much you really can do. You live under your parent’s roof. It is their rules. Is it fair? Probably not, but it is their “way”.

The only thing you can really do is sit down and in a positive way ask them why they don’t like your boyfriend. Try to understand that and see if it is a reason you can correct.

However, if you cannot convince them to give it a try and get to know him for who he is (a nice guy that just wants to get to know them), there is really nothing you can do further.

You can continue to defy them but you are aware of the risks that you may be punished. That’s the unfortunate part of all of this. You just want them to see him for who he is and they are being stubborn for whatever reason.

I think the only solution is to talk and hope you can change their view or at least convince them to give him a chance. Best of luck to you.

You are right about that. It isn’t about sex. Talk about birth control. I went on it when young because my periods were terrible.

So, there are other reasons to get on it like hormone control. That would give some piece of mind.

I don’t know how to talk to them again about letting me date my boyfriend. I am scared and I really love him so much.

The only way is to plead for them to sit down and discuss it. Tell them I’m not trying to argue with you but want an honest discussion as to what issues you have with him.

I know you care for him and this is tough on you. I think the only thing is to talk it out.

I think that if you can understand what issue they have with him and then show them why it shouldn’t be a problem for them, yes it is entirely possible.

Tell them to at least give it a chance and get to know him better before making a judgment.
