It is a little late after 7 months to realize that you are not compatible and that she feels uncomfortable in your presence.

Saying that she cannot be herself is another way to say that she does not feel comfortable being with you for whatever reason. It could be because she feels constricted, she lost her freedom to act the way she did before or because she has the feeling that there are too many constraints and negative issues.

You should talk to her and ask for explanations. I would suggest you prepare a list of issues you believe exist between you two and next to each problem, you bring up a solution that you think is acceptable to both. Ask your girlfriend to make a similar list, independent from yours. Then you sit together and attempt to find a consensus.

If it fails, then you probably have no other option that to separate because this relation would only become toxic if the one or the other feels out of place in that relation. Good luck.
