Back when the internet was still new, America Online was a big thing. I met A LOT of women on there and met around 30 face to face. Most of the time it was fine. Most of it was just meeting face to face because we chatted so much online and wanted to meet in person. There were a few goofy ones but most were normal. I never had much luck with the dating apps after they came out. I did meet probably around 5 face to face from the apps, but I never really hit it off with any.

Not dating app but online yes. I met two in college. First date was nice. He was a little older than me and working man. He took me to this posh Japanese restaurant and was a gentleman the whole date. The second date was younger same age as me. We went to watch a movie, before you know it, he started kissing me 😷. Many, many times. A few of the dates were disapponting but most were at least okay and some were outstanding. I have had very good success with online dating.

Yeah, though I've found over the years the best you can expect online is ONS or NSA. From a numbers, ease and efficiency point of view the internet is a great way to meet women. Different people have different experiences, but for me every date that has come from online is someone trying to get a free meal, or we fool around for a week or two.

Never been on a dating app. No personal experience. However, my friend's daughter met her current boyfriend on a dating app. Seems to be going ok. Her father (my friend) has also met one of his girlfriend's on a dating app. I have two colleagues who met their so's on dating apps (one is married, the other I'd wager will get married).

It seems that meeting people through dating apps isn't much different from meeting them through other means.

Yes, and still in a relationship with that guy I met in online dating app. It might sound skeptical but as a busy working lady who doesn't have time to mingle just for any men outside this dating app is much help

However, as a precautions I asked him the copy of his ID and send it to my trusted friend that after an hour if I didn't send any message nor confirmation she will call immediate help for me.

Several times. But only after ''talking'' for a while.

The people I meet in real life are mostly dull. So an ''app'' is a convenient option to not waste my time on ''unpromising candidates''.

It's not my ''default'' mode, but it certainly is an alternative to consider.

Yeah. It was better than I expected. She said she was a Bhuddist, a vegan, and into sustainable living. Which is so far from who I am I couldn't understand what she was drawn to in my profile. Then we met and it turned out none of it was true, i think, she just was trying to sound interesting. There was no chemistry I think but we still had a good conversation for a couple hrs. Over drinks.

Yea. My wife. Met on lavalife early 2000s when it was one of the more popular dating sites. The layout was basically Facebook before it came out.

You created a profile with pics and description. Then sent smiley face to people you liked. To send a message you had to buy their credits.

One I liked a lot, and we talked for a while, but we ended up not continuing.
One, I wasn't attracted to, and I told her, so we didn't talk after that.
One wasn't really into me, and she let me know, so we went our separate ways.
