It's equally difficult. Some people are very attractive, some less so.

I mean, I'm sure everyone has people that think they are very attractive, and everyone has people that think they are the opposite.

The number of men and women are equal. Suppose on January 1 you have 10000 single men and 10000 single women. Some of them will form pairs. When a couple forms, that is a man and a women who attracted each other. At the end of the year there will be an equal but smaller number of single men and single women. If you measure the difficulty of attracting a suitable partner by the time one remains single, it's equal. If there are more women than men (as there were after WWI and WWII), then it's more difficult for women. If there are more men that women (as there were and may still be in China due to their one-child policy) then it's more difficult for men.
