Possibly because choosing to raise a child as a single parent is bad for the child's development. People expect the mother to search for a father figure so her kids don't end up underdeveloped. People who were raised by single parents make poorer choices in life when it comes to relationships and way of life in general. More likely to join gangs and commit crime or do drugs.

From where I am, the majority of my community still views a whole family as one with kids and both parents. While we do have cases of single moms, my community still views single-parent family as being incomplete or broken unfortunately.

I do hope people can have an open-minded attitude and empathize more with single moms. Families come in all sorts and sizes, depending on the situation it is in. We should not impose our ideals of a "perfect" family onto others.

The justice system favours the mother so sometimes it appears that the mother took away the kid from the father and it makes single moms look bad?

I also believe there are two sides to every story. We just hear more about deadbeat dads than deadbeat moms.

As a man you're f-ed. You'll always be last to her, the kid especially when he/she reaches puberty will always hate and never accept you. Unless her ex has passed away there's already one failed relationship, plus you kind of have Chad or Tyrone as her ex messing up your "family".

Probably because when a lot of people hear the term "single mom" they do not think of widows or those abandoned by husbands who flipped from good to bad, but instead they think of the characterization of a woman who has unprotected sex with lots of random guys and then has babies so she can get free housing, medical, EBT, while continuing to have unprotected sex with lots of randoms.

I think people think just because she is a single mom she must be easy or damaged.. I've heard it before. . But what's funny is a single dad is labeled the greatest man on earth because he is taking care of the child while the mother run off or what ever.

NOT ALL but generally most single moms are unplanned pregnancies. I think most people criticize single moms because they make bad choices and follow them up with even worse choices and worst of all because of it they'll probably raise another damaged human being that will be another blight on the system.
