I don't think you need to tell him that you are single until he asks. I say that because if you provide information be he inquires you can be perceived as too needy of a relationship. But if you wait until he inquires about your relationship status then you know he is asking because he is interested in you and it puts you in the position where he is chasing you not you chasing him. And that is somewhat important for him to be the one chasing you. I say that because men are wired to chase after the woman he desires and when he is successful it makes the relationship more valuable to him
