What do you say if a guy asks if you're single?

This guy who I'm friends with, asked me that. I thought he might like me, Because he's always liking my statuses and complimenting me in Facebook ("you're really beautiful, you know that?"). I kind of like him. He randomly messaged me on Facebook, asking me if I was single, he said something like "Idk If it's too personal, but are you single?". Yes, I am. What should I reply to him?

It's pretty obvious that he's into you. What things have you said to him? Have you said anything that may make him think you're into him too? Also, be careful... I would be careful if I were you. If he seems like a nice guy, awesome. If not... Yikes...

Be truthful. That's always the best way to go, I think. :) Good luck!

A simple yes or no will suffice. If you like him you could say something like "for the moment" to suggest you might be looking to change that soon. At any rate he's clearly into you.

Here's a radical idea.

Try telling him the truth.

You could say "yes, I am" but that would be too simple. Say something like "why do you ask?". Always try answering someone with another question. He may think you are or aren't but at least you're not coming off as desp.

He may be taken by the tenacity to ask that sort of thing...he's either not wanting to reply or he finds you "different" and is thinking of something clever to say back
