Should I tell a girl I like her if I won't see her again?

During a trip I met a girl and we explored the city together and went out for dinner. We met three times in total.

But in the end we said goodbye and I didn't take any further steps or tell her that I liked her because I'm very insecure.

Should I tell her now, if only to get it off my chest? Even if in a few days she's going back to her country?

Honestly, insecure or not I always say be honest with your feelings. If you like her you should tell her, and the sooner the better... even if she rejects you at least that will provide some closure for you and you can move on.

It is always a good idea to confront and deal with your insecurities in a healthy way, so yeah you should confront this part of yourself and deal with it or it will plague you through out your dating life. Rejection is just and ingrained part of the dating process there is no way to avoid it. But the more you are exposed to rejection, the easier it gets for you to build up the courage, recover from it and maintain your self in relationships.

So definitely tell her.

In love and war there are no winners or losers, just the living and the dead... so live a little and make the most of the time you do have. Don't live in fear, there will always be reasons as to why you should not do something... but if in your heart you know you want it, then just fixable on the reasons why you should do it and just do it.

On the one hand I would say yeah if you want to but I really don't see the point. At best, you will be getting into a LDR and at worst, you will both separate and leave each other wondering what could have been.

I think that is the thing that would get me. Even though you didn't have a relationship exactly, you did enjoy some time together. Leave those memories as they are... happy.

If you tell her you like her, two things will/could happen. One, it is off putting to her and she leaves and those happy memories I mention turn into sad ones because she rejects the compliment.

Two, she likes you back and then you are forced to watch her leave your life, always wondering what might have been if you could have remained together.

Now, the only positive that could come out of it is a LDR, but how long realistically do you think you can keep that up? I am unsure of the distance between you. Also, what are the odds of reuniting of a meaningful relationship some day. My guess is pretty low.

So, for me, I'd let it go and enjoy the time you had.

The problem is that they are not happy memories, at least right now, because they are so marred by sadness and regret. I don't know if they will be someday.

Also I don't think a rejection makes things worse, as I already think she is not interested in me in the same way as I am.

You should, you never know! That’s pretty much how I met my husband. Met him when I was 15 and he was 16, he was visiting my city and I met him by chance. We stayed in touch - this was in the early days of Facebook and we were also still using MSN and MySpace, lol. We just kept a friendship, nothing serious because of distance.

A few years later, he came back to study here, we reconnected, and we started dating soon afterwards.

Just go for it, because you honestly never know.

Yes, I think that even though I didn't tell her, she should have realised that I liked her. But she didn't send me any sign, other than to meet me to walk around the city.
