How Do You Tell If A Person You Like Is Genuinely Nice Or Are They Pick Me/Manipulative?

Here's how

1. You have to see them in person first and foremost to tell.
2. Observe and listen to how they treat waitstaff, ask detailed questions/follow up on the questions to see if they deflect.
3. If someone is "selling to you" and has an inflated sense of self-worth (talks a lot about himself/herself, doesn't ask you questions, doesn't listen to you) it is a red flag. I've dealt with these types of women and they aren't different from dudes.
4. If someone is genuinely interested, they will find it hard to not show genuine emotion. If they respond to your texts directly/questions directly and don't constantly play hard to get/are standoffish that's a good sign. If they keep deflecting or giving short answers they are hiding something and waitin for you to make a mistake in which they can exploit in the future.
5. If they are genuinely interested they will mention things about "let's do this in the future", and bounce future ideas of doing things together off you! This is what I do and I can't help it!!

I think for the most part, this comes with experience. It would be easier to point it out based on a scenario. I would say though that, it is usually best to take things at face value.

One thing is for sure though most people will make mistakes and that is how they learn to see through people. Experience is the best teacher.

I keep everyone at arm's length and they'll show their true colors eventually. I get closer to them, but they don't get closer to me.

Just see how do they behave with the person you think they do not prefer or just hate. And other people too. Each interaction of that person with other people is an insight in that person.

Read about personality disorders and learn to recognize them. Other than that, allowing time to see if a guy is consistently kind and seeing how he treats other people besides you can help clarify his intentions.

If a guy wants you more than what they see on the surface, he is a good guy. But then you also have to see if he is trying to impose his lifestyle on you or trying to be controlling by telling you what to do, what to wear or who to speak with etc. Those should be red flags
