So I started pretending to be another girl using a texting app to this guy I like so that he will text me more often. I know it's dumb but I feel like he texts her more than me.

Isn't the goal of all this to get to the point of meeting in person, dating, etc? So what will he think when he meets you? The first thing he will think is, "This girl is a big fat liar!" And he won't want to go any further than that. So. . . why are you doing this charade that wastes his time as well as yours?

We've met already. We have been friends for years but just recently it's become more romantic until he decided to change his mind and now just wants friends with benefits.
