He made my friend breakup with me?

A guy (25) who lead me on for the last 7 months promising a relationship and pursued me through our mutual friend ended up rejecting me (23) for another girl (19). I’m upset because he couldn’t even be honest or reject me himself to be with the girl - and made our friend tell me the news. And then he lied to make himself look better.

I am really upset, and want to explain to him what he did was hurtful and cowardly. Any advice would be appreciated 😣💕
