    He's trying to get to know you better, see what you're interested in... basically he likes you and wants to know as much about you as he can.

    If it bothers you, just tell him to back off. Or politely inform him it's none of his business, or unprofessional to ask about your personal life unless you bring it up (which yes, it really is).
