Not shallow but you're denying yourself. Why would you create buckets of lesser humans and greater humans such that one's compliments have value and the other's don't? I think, too, that there's an underlying assumption that the not good looking guy doesn't know what he's looking at/only wants something from you. Not sure that holds water. If an art appraiser doesn't know how to paint, is his appraisal less valuable? Or a home appraiser who doesn't build homes? If a person buying a car doesn't race them, should they not be allowed to buy a Corvette? But, back to the bigger thing. Why would you deny yourself the pleasure of saying "hey, 73 people complimented me today"? And say instead, "I got 2 compliments today from good looking people". To me, that doesn't make any sense but I respect your right to make that choice.

But, in answer to your question, no, you're not shallow.

It's a shallow mindset but if that's the way you think then it is what it is, I think the important thing is how you treat the person, for example sometimes I think of strangling people that piss me off, it's not a healthy thought but I'm not insane where I actually go and strangle the person, this is somewhat similar, as long as you don't treat them like shit just cause they aren't attractive then you aren't a bad person, because I'm spiritual and I know bad influences and the results of those influences, most start by influencing your thoughts.
