Let's be clear. He's not MY manager. He oversees a different department. I think he's cute and I think he knows it. I also know he's shy. Can I ask him out? Or at least ask for his number?

I don't even know if guys actually like being asked out. But I can't wait forever.

I would not. Even if your HR department allows it, I have never -- literally not once in 35 years in the workforce -- seen a workplace relationship end well. Not once. Not end in marriage or long term relationship. All ended like the Titanic or Hindenburg.

I was actually talking about it with a new transfer who is dating our coworker. There's nothing that directly says it's frowned upon in the company policy. It apparently happens quit often 🤣

Based on the absolute dump fire outcomes more than one friend of mine experienced after dating someone from work, I would never recommend it. Any stories where that dynamic actually works are like isolated rarities.

I've actually seen it work several times. My current boss meet her husband on the job. And a good friend of mine meet her fiance while they worked together. Another friend meet his long time girlfriend when they worked together. Thinking about it. It actually happens quit frequently in my company 🤣😹
