Am I wasting my time?

He always calls me and we stay on call for hours. sometimes we even sleep on calls and wake up the next day and continue talking and everything. He talks to me on the phone even when the guys are around so they pretty much know about me. He’d choose to spend time with me when I’m sick or not feeling good over watching a movie with some friends. He’s always teasing me and trying to get my attention ( that’s what he said when I ask him why’d he do a certain thing he’d be like I just wanted to get ur attention). He’s so sweet with me. He tells me he loves me on a daily basis and we’re basically together for 5 months now. But he’s scared of putting the girlfriend and boyfriend label because we’re long distance. But he’d still call me his girlfriend sometimes in certain situations. He even thinks about the future and what he wants to do together as in living together and stuff like that.

I have never known of a LDR to be successful. Either they meet and discover the real life gaps between them are to great OR one falls off the radar OR one 5000 insta followers etc... Planning and Intentionality are extremely important as in LDR there is no "hang around one another" time. Shared space time becomes a commodity and should be a goal of permanence.

I’ve been in a few long distance relationships and what I can say from those experiences is that long distance can’t work if there’s no solid plan to move closer together or live together in general. Talking about “hopes” for the future is literally a fantasy, you can’t build anything on that. So as for if you’re wasting your time, I would say yes. Maybe in the future if he can give you more to work with and look forward to then you can try again, but telling you he can’t give you a title because of the distance, but wanting your commitment and attention is not cool.

You’re wasting your time. 5 months and he still won’t claim you even though your already acting as though you are together doesn’t make sense, even going as far as saying love you HUGE RED FLAG.
