When it comes t o exchanging #’s on dating apps, do the guy prefer to mention talking outside of the app or does he wait for the woman to mention it?

I hope that made sense. I’ve been chatting with this guy on bumble for three days straight, the chemistry is going really well, we’ve been getting to know one another. We seem to be attracted to one another however, he hasn’t made a move to exchange numbers. Do you think he is waiting for me to mention it? It’s obvious we like each other so I’m confused.

But... I'd like to ask you a question: What are YOU waiting for?

There is no reason it's up to him, any more than up to you. Either person can ask this. So, if things are going well, and you want to talk to him off the app,... you should give him your number and ask for his.

You're overthinking this. This is a super minor thing CONSIDERING you two have had 3 days straight of good conversation. There is no real risk at this point. What are you worried about? Shocking him? Confusing him? Coming off as desperate? Pushy?

Seriously. I don't even know if it's POSSIBLE for it to go wrong. Ask him to exchange numbers. Are... you worried he might say no? (if he does, good. Because he'd be a fucking weirdo if he said no).

Just do it. 🙂

Haha thanks for the answer. It’s my first time using an app so I guess I was overthinking it. I started to wonder maybe he’s not ready to exchange numbers? I don't know. I guess I’ll try and see what happens. :)

You are overthinking like a dating veteran. This has nothing to do with it being your first time on the app. Girls (many of them) will overthink things like this even if they've been through every dating app out there. It's super duper normal. Almost... typical. I wasn't accurate before. Guys overthink things too... just as much (albeit a bit differently).

But the central point remains. You can, and should initiate this 'next step' if he hasn't, and it feels like it's time for that natural next step. So I am glad you're going to do it. Because, then it'll get done. Good luck (you don't need it) 🙂
