Should I go on a date if I don’t see a future with this guy?

I haven’t been asked out in years so I’m really in need of advice. This guy I met at a party came up to me afterwards and said I wanted to tell you you’re gorgeous and asked me on a date which I thought was sweet but now I’m hesitating

he's not physically my type. I usually go for tall men and he’s average height and so I don’t find him that attractive and the way he approached me was kind of weird now that I think about it cause he complimented my looks a couple times and that was the reason he came up to me clearly so if you were in my shoes, would you go on the date or just politely decline?

Accepting a date is a promise that you would consider a romantic relationship. If you are sure you wouldn't, ever, then decline. But it sounds like you are just going on your first impression and don't know him at all, and there's some chance that you might change your mind. Go on the date and see. It shouldn't be a big deal -- no fancy dinner, just lunch or coffee or something similar.

So you're hung up on his height? Id go on the date and maybe he has other aspects that you can be drawn to. I wouldn't let height be the deciding factor to at least give him a chance.

I'd say go on the date and just enjoy it for what it is. A date. It doesn't have to be an audition for future partner.

It could just be a dinner where you get to talk to the person and see if you get along. Doesn't have to be anything more than that.

Well you already agreed so I think you should at least go through with the date now. But that's the only obligation you've made. If at the end of the date you don't feel ANYTHING towards him, I don't think thier anything wrong with deciding thier won't be a 2nd.

If a potential relationship is completely out of question no matter how well the date goes, then decline the date. Otherwise, give it a shot.
