Is someone you are talking to disappearing away from texting you for a whole entire afternoon/night okay or sketchy?

Really all depends, if you are just talking and not dating, then I think its 100% okay. I mean it could really be for any reason at all and 100% justifiable. Ff you are dating then yeah; he should have given you a heads up that he will be busy... I mean that would be a courteously thing to do.

But if you are not dating then he is not really obligated to chat you every night, and if he is busy then he is busy. If that's an issue for you then, I say trust your instincts and move on from this situation.

@Jamie05rhs NO, you must not get out much. People make plans on Holidays and if I am not texting you back suddenly or avoiding it is because you are not in my plans...

Do not know what kind of work and daily life you have but my weekdays are 100-200 emails and multiple texts daily. I have not time for personal interruption until 7pm and maybe the day after.

Personally I would say no because texting should be minimal compared to hanging out in person or phone call conversations. People get busy and don’t always have time to be carrying on texting back to back all day. If much rather text just to check in or making plans to hang out.

I think that’s a good idea, but I would also advise trying to understand exactly what certain actions mean to you. For instance, if he isn’t texting often, do you worry that there’s something going on? Or maybe get insecure? Because while I do think it’s good to transition into less texting, you could also use this as a time to learn about yourself and your triggers so you can set healthy boundaries and navigate your dating experience better, with him or anyone else in general.

Yes it does make me feel like something else is going on because my issue is, is when someone is a lot texting in the beginning and then it starts to get a little less after a couple of weeks, it concerns me that they were around so often and now even though he checks in before afternoon ends it’s just so weird that he disappeared so early

That I can definitely understand. Maybe the issue is less about the texting and more about dating a guy who is consistent in his effort. This is him getting more comfortable and showing you who he really is, and you have to decide if what you’re seeing is what you really want in a partner, so you can end it before investing any more time.

We do text pretty often but I guess this whole weekend he’s been pretty wishy washy. I know there’s holidays going on so like I understand on that context but then again it’s like he’s 24, there’s no way he doesn’t have his phone in his hand to the point where he can go hours without texting

During the holidays season I don't go on my phone. And I don't even look at my phone when I have my son around. I guess it really depends what kind of man or boy he is. If you had plans with him that day. I would say that's a red flag.
