So your brother's friend is saying that he will not date a person who Photoshops photos... because he doesn't want her altering the image of herself, falsely, online? Is that it?
I was a professional Photoshop editor, and I can tell you that these filters offered by other social media companies are actually more distorting than Photoshop. Professional individuals are probably less likely to distort photos of people than individual laymen (laywomen) are of themselves. Professional photographers tend to value realism, not highly stylized depictions of people. They will enhance their photography, but there are other programs that are designed for art creation, fantasy, web design, etc.
Anyway, if the question is, would I date a person who significantly altered their photos to dramatically change their appearance (especially looking many years younger, or doll-like, etc.), the answer would be a resounding no.
Sure, mainly because everyone forms a first impression based on the first picture they see of someone. Not everyone has good skills at taking pictures.
Now if I still recognized them when we met, all the better... however if they looked so different I didn't recognize them when we met, probably would be the end of it.
There is all kinds of ways to change things up. Most people say they prefer all natural, but they really do lie through their teeth because then they skip over all those people and focus on the top 5% of people, based strictly on looks then complain there is no one that wants them.
Make up can be used just as good as photoshopping skills, or photo editing skills.
Maybe when people truly back up their they want everyone all natural with real world actions (everyone) then it won't matter.
I personally love it when a man knows how to use make up just right on himself.
No, because if they have image issues on who they are you are now living a lie. They are trying to be someone they are not. Now your starting off. A relationship or meet up with a lie. This is why they get the same answer CATFISH. never be fake and always be you. Never be ashamed on who you are. There is always someone out there for you. Stop hiring an expectation and creating a fake reality. This is how people get their feelings hurt. Filters are for water not pictures. Stop trying to impress the wrong person. They were never meant for you to began with if you have to photoshop your looks.
I used to know someone who did some illegal stuff with their photoshop skills. I also have the skills but I've never done anything illegal and I've never wanted to change my appearance to make myself look like someone I'm not.
So, I would say I prefer someone who has little to no photoshop skills, but anyway having photoshop skills won't be a dealbreaker for me unless they edit their own photos like the ones you've shown above or do anything illegal with it.
Illegal stuff? What did he do, photoshop a normal sized penis over Donald Trump's tiny button mushroom?
@supercutebutt Is that all that comes to your mind when I say "illegal"? Sorry for you then.

Will u be ok?

Depending on what they're using it for; if it's "for good" - then probably. If it's for bad - to lie (and not as a joke or parody), to make up rumors, etc, then no.
I do photo restoration. My goal isn't to delete the "personality" from the photo. I just... make them look better. My goal is to kind of do how most people would "remember someone." Like if a grandmother passed, I may fix myopia, or I might tweak earrings to get them to match, or trim wild unkempt hair down, but I wouldn't get rid of all the wrinkles, or try to make them look twenty years old.
Not to sure on this one,
I mean as long as he/she was sending me legit photos of their legit self and not some edited thing then fair enough, I’m a pretty dab hand at editing photos myself, I don’t use photoshop I use other apps like Snapseed, I only use them to edit nature photos like edit the composition or the saturation delete details that I don’t like, I’d never alter who I am with said apps I do use filters though on some of my photos just to mess about, I would however send an un-edited photo of me to a potential date.
Sure assuming that those amazing skills weren't used to dupe/bait and switch me. That said, it's all about looks. I don't look at a picture and say "that's the person I want to date!" -- something else made a connection.
Million dollar answer!
Thank you for that comment. With no offense meant to your brother's friend, that's absurd. Let's set aside relationship stuff. Photoshopping is a marketable skill, especially when combined with other editing and graphic design skills. Why on earth would that be a deal breaker. If someone is an actor, is that a deal breaker because they might act in porn? If someone is a fashion designer is that sus because they might see people in underwear or dress them nicer? The logic here isn't even logic. Makes me want to pull my hair out.
He's just ignorant. He's onto his 3rd girlfriend of 2023 already.
He has the logic of people who say Jack drew Rose nude to "seduce" her... Like he wasn't so skillful as an artist-
It's a miracle ANY WOMAN shows interest in him AT ALL
He's good looking
Doesn't excuse being a jerk but thank god bimbos exist
Well here's my opinion on this , I would most definitely date a person with amazing Photoshop skills. Because for me anyway - when I look at our pictures I wouldn't have to be so upset with how I look instead I would appreciate that she can a not attractive photo of me & alter it to make it look like I was attractive.
Only if I met the person irl and I know how they really look.
I've been in a good few tinder dates when I got big surprises. It's not only the fooling with appearances, it's the fact that they don't know you and they're already trying to fool you.
Photoshop is a massive, complex piece of software which has so many uses beyond editing your selfies... so yes, it shows a creative and technical side which are good to see in a potential match.
Agreed
Depends if it's pictures of himself or herself no since i don't photoshop myself at all the most i do is crop my pictures. If it's for photography like wildlife zoo or cars or planes then yeah photoshop is fine for editing photography
Here's the thing about photoshop in order to properly use it you need lightroom and the raw files
Cool info
Yes, but not if they were using it to unironically modify the pictures they post of themselves. Otherwise though Photoshop is a neat skill and hobby.
As long as they don't use it on themselves to fool others, yeah!
There's a guy I know who does if for his friends
Friends is good! Dating, not so much!
I love your username. @SweetTwistedSatanist
Yes, because I admire smart people. I installed a watered down version of atuo cad and couldn't even draw a straight line. I think you need to take classes in it.
Why? It’s a skill required of graphic designers who make 200k a year. That’s stupid af but if your question is girls who photoshop their own pics to look more attractive that’s completely different
People who are obsessed with taking photos of themselves are weird nvm this. So highly doubt I would.
I don't see the problem, unless all I've seen is photoshopped pictures until I meet them in person, then yeah it's probably a deal-breaker
not a deal breaker to me... not only skilled but you have to be quite creative to be AMAZING with Photoshop, so to me those are two great things for anybody to have
and I know two of them personally
Am I going to live with her photo or the actual person?
This is why I don’t trust people who don’t FaceTime it’s sad that a lot of women only feel comfortable when they’re wearing someone else’s hair and their face caked in makeup
I don't see a point in Catfishing anyone with Photoshop tbh
Yes, I would date a girl into Photoshopping Skills.
If I was looking for someone to date it might be a good quality as long as they don't try to deceive me by photoshoppying their pictures
I don't have photo editing skills. I wouldn't even know where to begin modifying a picture, or how.
well shi.. if they could photoshop me with shrek.. harry styles.. or whatever my heart desires just for the fun of it… sure why not.
Photoshop this:
I'd give it a shot, but a lot of other things would determine how long the relationship would last.
Well the first date I will find out that she cheated with her photos and if I dislike the real girl then there will be no further date.
Skills or no skills, lying about your looks will not get you a ring.
Why not? Having any sort of skills is a good thing to date, not?
I am a graphics designer for 16+ years im 36 years old it would be a yes
Well if they show me a pic of them without being photo shopped yes
Yeah why not. If the person puts the skill into good use id be happier.
If this is the skill then no way
maybe but probably not
Do you want to be real or fake?
If it is there Business then it is oka
Do not care.
I don't see why not
Yes why not?
Never...
Nope!!!
