Guys, do you prefer to be the ones to ask a girl out or do you like it when a girl asks you out?

Are guys getting tired of the expectation that they should be the ones to ask the girl out?

I lived in California for a while, in Long Beach many years ago.
I would go to a place that played 50's 60's music and would just sit at the bar getting into the music, and I could not believe the number of women that came up and asked me to dance, and a couple even asked me out.
I'm about a 6 to maybe a low 7, football player build, big shoulders, kind of a farm boy in the big city.
I was amazed at this, it never happened back home.
I asked them about it, and I was told I looked like I was having fun.
I had no clue, I was just enjoying the music.
Then I would look around and I saw a bunch of the surfer types striking just the right pose, not really smiling or anything.
It was a real boost to my ego to have someone ask me out, and of course I wouldn't say no.
So for me it is great when someone shows an interest in you.
It sure takes a lot of pressure off of you, should I, shouldn't I ask her, and she makes the first move.

I've been datig and in relationships for 52 years and never once had a girl ask me for a date. Fortunately, I never ot burned out on doiing the asking, and now I live with my girlfriend so it's not an issue.

I always say if you like someone you should let them know & girls shouldn’t be afraid to ask guys out nowadays.

Honestly both ways is a dead end for me. Asking her out is not an option cause I'd be too scared and if she asked me out my self esteem would convince she's playing a prank and I'll bolt from there.

For the most part me. Granted It's nice to see a girlie take the initiative from time to time. You know, deal with rejection. Also the eventual YES!

Either way is fine. I just tend to let women do the asking because they're typically the ones that know what they want.
