What should I do when he reads my love letter?

Hii!
I have given a love letter to my senior in which I have expressed my feelings, kept a bracelet and praised him for his goodness. I asked him to open it on 11th Feb (I can trust him that he won't open it before that).
We talk on insta even though we are in the same school. I was just wondering if there's anything I should keep in my mind while he reads my letter and replies to it.

Notes:

- He's known me for 6 months.

- He talks sweetly and puts others before him.

- This is my first time confessing to someone.

- I have just mentioned about my feelings, not asked him to be my boyfriend.

Hii guys!
Finally, he read the letter and replied to it. He replied to it first time saying "No problem, it's great to know that you like me." When I asked him how's he feeling, he said "Happy and nervous because this is the first time someone told me they like me." Well, it was my first time confessing to someone. We continued talking about our daily life like we usually do for around an hour and went to sleep. (This was on 12th midnight).

I don't know why but a sudden urge of expressing my gratefulness took over me.
We're still friends, but better. Things have been going really great between us. We've gotten a lot closer.
He has started making efforts to get to know more about me unlike before the confession. Our conversations sound more like besties rather than lovers. And, I am more than happy to have this kind of friendship with him.

This confession can potentially fill you with joy or on the other hand be something that will eventually turn against you.

If he reacts positively to it, then all is good and you know that his feelings are reciprocated. That is the best case scenario and you can move to your next step, whatever this will be.

Now, what if he does not react the way you secretly hope for? What would be your reaction? Are you ready to accept rejection? How would you deal with rejection?

I think that you have to take into consideration that his reaction is negative and prepare your "counter-attack". What would you tell him? Would you be upset with him? Are you going to ask what his reasons are for rejecting you?

What you should do when he reads your letter? Simply tell him that your feelings come from the bottom of your heart and that you are sincere with your feelings. Tell him that you understand if he does not want to commit and that you are not upset at him, simply disappointed at the turn the entire thing took.

But that should not be the reason why you should never write a letter to someone you care for. It is so rare nowadays that people take the time and invest in writing a real letter. Just for doing that, you are already a winner in my eyes. Good luck.

I'll take your advice in consideration, thank you so much! I already feel there might be a possibility of rejection because he has a crush on someone else and he told me about this. I am not jealous of that girl but happy for her. I am ready to accept whatever his response is going to be!

Is there a reason why he should not open it before 2/11 and why not 2/14? That is Valentine's day and it may have impacted more. But whatever the reason, don't let a (possible) negative reply ruin your day.

He may have a crush on someone else but what if this crush does not reciprocate? Believe in your strengths and if he does not see your true value, then he does not deserve you :-)

I asked him to open it on 11th because I don't have any important work that day. So, my whole attention would be towards him. I didn't choose 14th because I didn't want to make it obvious to him about my crush on him.
He does have a crush on someone else but doesn't think about her much because he thinks they both would never get together (he told me about this himself).

Today (14th midnight), he msged me a long paragraph apologizing for replying too awkwardly to the letter because he was confused about what to say. He mentioned that he asked his cousin and his bff for advice but it didn't really make sense to him so that's what he could think of saying. He felt he was being rude by saying "No problem." So, he apologized for that oh god.
He then expressed his gratitude for all that I made for him, the long love letter, the bracelet, and all sweet little praises. I had started a convo with him by staying anonymous and leaving notes on his desk long time ago. We somehow started talking on insta instead. He even thanked me for writing on his desk.

Another update:
We were just genuinely talking and he seemed extra-interested in the conversation. He was okay with me being flirty. Before going to study, I msged "a small reminder: this crazy girl loves you a lot!" And to that, he replied "Love you too... bye (purple heart)."
I asked him if he genuinely meant that or if he said it just for the sake of it. He said "Take it whatever way you want to. I have no problem (smile)."
So, now I am totally baffled + excited. But what exactly did he mean?

Well, it could be a double meaning.

He did not really confirm that he really loves you too but he did not deny it. He leaves it to you to judge. Now, personally, I don't find it satisfying answer because it is open to different interpretation.

However, I do think that he cares for you too and I would leave it to that. Lucky girl. Hope all works well.

As far as what you should do, I think nothing other than be patient. I think, also, that it's possible he may be tongue tied and his response may not be many words or match your letter in tone, or elegance, or [fill in the blank]. But if that's the case, it doesn't negate your letter or anything else.
